Saint Anne

St. Anne was the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus Christ. St. Anne and her husband St. Joachim had no children and were very sad. St. Anne prayed to God and promised that if He gave her a child, she would dedicate the child to His service. God heard her prayers and a daughter was born, who they named Mary. St. Anne raised Mary to love God with all her heart. St. Anne has been honored as the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary since the early days of the Church and is much loved by mothers and grandmothers all over the world! Saint Anne is the patroness saint of grandmothers, mothers and children, and her feast day is on July 26th.
