Description

Paul was born in the year 5 A.D., in Tarsus, in Cilicia (present-day Turkey), into a wealthy Jewish family who enjoyed the privileges of Roman citizens.

For many years Paul persecuted Christians.  One day, on his way to Damascus on a mission to stop Jesus' disciples, Paul saw a Divine Light that questioned him about persecutions against Christians and blinded him. The Divine light was Jesus. A few days later, Jesus asked Ananias to baptize Paul, who immediately regained his sight and converted to Christianity.

Paul was an Apostle of Jesus Christ and one of the greatest spreaders of Christianity. He wrote thirteen New Testament epistles.

Paul was killed by the Romans in the year 67.

His feast day is June 29th.
