Tarcisius lived in Rome during the time of the persecutions against Christians and, as a devoted Christian, he regularly attended church services. One day, as usual, the priest asked who was ready to take the Holy Eucharist to the sick or imprisoned Christians. So, the young Tarcisius got up and said: "Send me!". He set out and met pagan friends on the way who approached him and invited him to accompany them. When he refused, they became suspicious. They then noticed that he was holding something against his chest. Tarcisius refused to show them the precious bread, so they kicked him and threw stones at him. But Tarcisius continued to protect the bread. Unfortunately, he died of his serious wounds on 08.15.257 and was buried in the catacombs of Saint Callixtus in Rome.
